Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo coming to SEGA AGES on Switch later this month

August 9, 2019 by Andrew Newton

The catalogue of games in the SEGA AGES collection for the Nintendo Switch will be increasing on 22nd August as Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo join the list of arcade classics.

Space Harrier is a classic arcade pseudo-3D shooter that wowed gamers back in the day with the quick paced action.  Taking the role of the young warrior Space Harrier, players will fly through a variety of treacherous landscapes destroying vicious monsters and creatures in order to save the peaceful Land of the Dragons.

The SEGA AGES version of Space Harrier adds a brand new feature called Komainu Barrier Attack, this will give players a special barrier that will allow them to plow through obstacles with ease, however take one hit and the protection goes.

Puyo Puyo is a beloved puzzle series that will require lightning quick reflexes.  This engaging action puzzler will see players creating combos of colourful ‘Puyos’ by matching the colours, while at the same time preventing them from reaching the top of the playfield.

In this SEGA AGES version, players will be able to compete against an AI opponent or a friend in the original Arcade Mode or go online to take on other players from around the world.   A new Ranking System is available for those wanting to take on the challenge and reach the top of the leaderboard.

Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo will be available on 22nd August, priced £5.99/ €6.99 each.
