Just weeks out from principal photography, Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. and LeBron James’ long-gestating Space Jam 2 has switched up its directors.
The site reports that Malcolm D. Lee (Night School) has signed on to replace Terence Nance (Random Acts of Flyness), with the latter said to have amicably exited the live-action/CG-animated hybrid sequel over creative differences with the studio and the film’s producers.
NBA superstar LeBron James is set to lead the cast of the follow-up to the 1996 Michael Jordan – Bugs Bunny team-up, and will appear alongside Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) and basketball stars Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Diana Taurasi, Klay Thompson, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike.
Space Jam 2 is slated to shoot this summer and is set to hit cinemas on July 16th 2021.
