The excitement amongst fans is building as we gear up for a return to Panem with the impending arrival of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the third – and penultimate – instalment of the blockbuster movie series, which is set to arrive on screens just two weeks from today.
Based on the bestselling book series by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 sees Jennifer Lawrence reprising the role of heroine Katniss Everdeen, who becomes a symbol of hope for the nation following her exploits in the previous chapter, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Finding herself in District 13, Katniss spreads her wings and fights to save the captured Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as she joins President Alma Coin’s (Julianne Moore) rebellion against the tyrannical Capitol.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 sees The Hunger Games: Catching Fire helmer Francis Lawrence back in the director’s chair, with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Julianne Moore joined in the cast by Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Meta Golding, Jena Malone, Stef Dawson, Natalie Dormer, Lily Rabe, Jeffrey Wright, Evan Ross, Mahershala Ali, Wes Chatham, Eldon Henson and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
