Announced at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Japan, Square Enix have revealed the third expansion, Shadowbringers.
Shadowbringers will take players from the world of Hydaelyn on a journey to Norvrandt, in the First World. The story will focus on becoming Warriors of Darkness “to fight against the forces of Light, which threaten to destroy this world”.
During the festival, producer and director Naoki Yoshida announced several upcoming new features.
This first feature is the new job, Dancer. Dancer is a new “ranged attacker not only unleashes powerful attacks using chakrams, but also performs dances to execute abilities and provide beneficial effects to their party”.
Next is a new player race called Hrothgar. Hrothgar is a male-only player race alongside the female-only Viera player race coming to Shadowbringers. Both races will also have customisable features specific to their races.
Finally, there are a couple of new cities in Norvrandt – The Crystarium and Eulmore, and a brand new raid called Eden, which includes a new character designed by Kingdom Hearts director, Tetsuya Nomura.

Shadowbringers will release on 2nd July on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
