Stan Lee is over in the UK at the moment for the London Film & Comic-Con (that’s me looking rather chuffed to be having my photo taken with the legend earlier this evening), and at a press conference prior to the event he spoke about the rise of Marvel movies, as well as confirming that he’s set to cameo in next year’s hotly-anticipated sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“All it can do is make it better for Marvel if we do these movies and the movies are successful. There are people reading Marvel comic books that would have never thought to read a comic book before. It helps the comic book business. The movie business has been unbelievably incredible. The Marvel movies are about the biggest money-making movies of all… The movies have been great. We have got the best directors, the best special effects people and wonderful actors. People that had not been big stars before like [Chris Hemsworth]. He’s wonderful. I was with him yesterday. I did my cameo of course [for Avengers: Age of Ultron]. And Chris Evans who plays Captain America. He’s excellent.”
Stan will make his next Marvel cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens on July 31st in the UK and August 1st in North America, while Avengers: Age of Ultron hits the UK on April 24th 2015 and in the States on May 1st 2015.
