CBS has released the first trailer for the second season of Star Trek: Discovery which gives us our first look at Anson Mount’s Captain Christopher Pike, who leaves the U.S.S. Enterprise to beam aboard the Discovery and takes command of the ship and its crew.
Meanwhile, during the panel it was also announced that Rebecca Romijn (X-Men) is joining the cast as Pike’s ‘Number One’, a character portrayed by Majel Barrett in the original Star Trek pilot ‘The Cage’, while we also got confirmation that Spock will be making his debut in the series.

As yet, there’s no word on an exact premiere date for season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery but it is expected to get underway in early 2019.
