Star Trek: Lore War crossover event coming in 2025 from IDW

September 8, 2024 by Gary Collinson

IDW Publishing has announced that Lore is set to conquer the universe next year as the comic publisher launches its all new Star Trek crossover event Lore War, which is set to span the pages on the ongoing mainline Star Trek and Star Trek: Defiant series as well as special one-shot tie-in issues.

The synopsis for the crossover, planned since IDW’s relaunch of the Star Trek comic line back in 2022 with Star Trek #400, reads:

The single most devious mind in the universe has won. Commander Data’s evil brother, Lore, has used the Orb of Destruction to obliterate all of reality and remake it in his image while declaring himself its God. Now that Lore has claimed the ultimate victory, what happens next?

“This is it. The moment we’ve been building to since the Theseus left spacedock and the Defiant was stolen,” said writer Jackson Lanzing, who teams with creators Collin Kelly, Christopher Cantwell and Davide Tinto on the event. ”The ultimate Star Trek comics crossover event – as the heroes and villains of the galaxy must band together to defend its very existence.”

“The gods are dead, and only one mad android holds the reins of our universe. With absolute power comes absolute corruption… but does it come with absolute control?” added Kelly. “Featuring the incredible art of Davide Tinto – a newcomer to the Trek world – we’re not settling for anything less than the most impressive and world-ending Star Trek event that comics can contain.”

Star Trek: Lore War #1 will release on March 26th 2025, while a prelude story features in Star Trek #500, available now.
