A few days ago we brought you word that Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the duo behind the likes of Scary Movie and Meet the Spartans, are developing a Star Wars spoof entitled Star Worlds Episode XXXIVE=MC2: The Force Awakens The Last Jedi Who Went Rogue, and now comes word of another Star Wars-themed comedy on the horizon.
Variety is reporting that Tony Dow (Babylon 5, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) is set to direct The Line Kings, which has been written by Billy Riback (Home Improvement, The Suite Life of Zach and Cody) and Steve Rubin (Bleacher Bums, Silent Night).
The film, which is slated to shoot in L.A. in the spring, will follow “a group of rabid Star Wars fans who camp out for four days on Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre after Disney announces that the fans who are first in line after four days will win walk-on roles in the next film in the series — leading to a battle royale between two fan groups determined to be first.”
