According to a recent report by The Playlist, Forest Whitaker will be reprising his role as Saw Gerrera for the upcoming Disney+ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series Star Wars: Andor.
However, the news of Whitaker’s casting didn’t come from the actor himself, but from his now co-star Stellan Skarsgård (Chernobyl) who accidentally revealed it during an interview with a Swedish radio station by stating that he got to film a scene alongside Whitaker.
Whitaker will also be starring alongside Diego Luna, who is reprising his Rogue One role as Cassian Andor, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Adria Arjona (6 Underground), Denise Gough (The Kid Who Would Be King), Kyle Soller (101 Dalmatian Street), and Robert Emms (His Dark Materials). Unfortunately, K-2SO actor Alan Tudyk has previously confirmed that he will not be returning for the first season of the upcoming Star Wars series.

The Andor series is being showrun by Tony Gilroy who previously worked on the reshoots for Rogue One and also co-wrote the film. The 12-episode first season is set to be directed by Black Mirror director Toby Haynes and is currently slated to air on Disney+ in 2022.
