Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic hits Nintendo Switch

November 12, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have today released the classic award-winning RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on the Nintendo Switch.  Available via the Nintendo eShop, this release allows Star Wars fans the opportunity to play one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made and making it even better, it can now be played in HD fidelity with upgraded resolution, textures, UI and cinematics.  Enjoy the new trailer below…

Set four thousand years before the rise and fall of the fearsome Galactic Empire (controlled by the Emperor and his right hand man Darth Vader) there was an epic war between the Jedi Knights and the ruthless Sith.  This war saw countless Jedi Knights fall in battle leaving players as the last hope for the Jedi Order.

In this classic RPG, players will need to master the powers that many Force users wield so easily and use these to become the saviour of the Republic and the Order, however it is all too easy to fall to the lure of the Dark Side and use these acquired skills for the Sith.  The fate of the galaxy, whether that be oppression or freedom, lays in the hands of the player.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic features:

  • Enjoy the original Star Wars classic RPG and experience an era long before that of Vader, Luke and Han Solo.
  • Choose your own path, customise characters and make decisions that will impact the story and galaxy.
  • Use a lightsaber and more than 40 different powers of the Force.
  • Meet unique characters and creatures, visit planets and use lots of different vehicles.
  • Journey through eight enormous and iconic Star Wars worlds, including Tatooine and Kashyyyk, in the Ebon Hawk starship.
  • Choose from a number of different crewmates, including Twi’leks, droids and Wookiees.

Enjoy this classic now on the Nintendo Switch from the Nintendo eShop priced £11.29/ $14.99/ €12.49.
