It’s been heavily rumoured for a couple of years now, and during today’s PlayStation Showcase, we now have official confirmation that a remake of the classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game is getting a modern remake, launching as a timed exclusive on PlayStation 5.
The remake of the 2003 RPG game is being handled by Aspyr, the company behind the recent modern system ports of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Episode I – Racer and Star Wars: Republic Commando.
With Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, Aspyr promises they are “rebuilding one of the greatest RPGs of all time for a new generation with modern tech, features, visuals and more, while maintaining the integrity of the story and characters that we’ve come to cherish.”
