After a foray into the High Republic era for The Acolyte, Lucasfilm will be returning to the post-Return of the Jedi timeframe of The Mandalorian and its spinoffs in December with the premiere of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, an all-new series from Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts.
Described as an Amblin-style coming-of-age story, Skeleton Crew sees Jude Law as force user Jod Na Nawood, who finds himself helping for young children (Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Robert Timothy Smith, Ravi Cabot-Conyers and Kyriana Kratter) lost in the galaxy far, far away.
Coinciding with the announcement of a December 3rd premiere date, Disney+ also shared a few new images from the series featuring Law and our young protagonists, whetting our appetites for what will presumably be the first trailer during Disney’s D23 next weekend…
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home – and meeting unlikely allies and enemies – will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew features a cast that includes Jude Law, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Krayyer, Robert Timothy Smith, Nick Frost, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, Jaleel White and Dane DiLiegro.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set to premiere on Disney+ on December 3rd 2024.
