Star Wars spin-off movie rumoured to feature Boba Fett and Han Solo

January 25, 2015 by Gary Collinson

We’ve heard reports that Gareth Edwards’ upcoming standalone Star Wars movie would feature Boba Fett, and we’ve heard reports it would feature Han Solo. So what’s the next logical step? That it will feature Boba Fett and Han Solo? Yep, you guessed it…

It looks like Latino-Review is covering both bases by reporting that the fan-favourite bounty hunter and intergalactic soundrel will both feature in the movie, and that a young Han will somehow end up involved with the bounty hunters hired to steal the plans to the Death Star. The rest of their report reads like pure speculation, so we should probably file this one firmly in the back of the rumour cabinet for the time being.

The first standalone Star Wars movie is set for release in 2016, with Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) directing. Gary Whitta (After Earth) penned the original script, which Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) is reportedly rewriting. As for casting, it’s been reported that Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Kate Mara (American Horror Story), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) are meeting with Edwards, while Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) is also rumoured to be under consideration for a role, although the actor has denied all knowledge about his potential involvement.
