Slitherine Games has announced they will be releasing a free playable demo for their upcoming Starship Troopers – Terran Command RTS during the Steam Next Festival, which takes place from 1st to 7th October. This new RTS based on the beloved cheesy sci-fi will provide players with the true Starship Troopers experience through two scenarios.
The demo for Starship Troopers – Terran Command will feature two scenarios with the first, titled ‘Peace of Mine’, providing players with an overview of the game’s main mechanics. Players will be able to deploy their mobile infantry, defend a central outpost and clear out the bug nests in the surrounding area.
The development team are hoping this free demo will provide plenty of player feedback that they can use to improve the game further prior to its release.
“Releasing a Starship Troopers – Terran Command demo at Steam Next Fest was a key decision in the development pipeline”, said David Sharrock, Executive Producer of the game. “We really want this game to deliver on the promise of a true Starship Troopers experience, and collecting feedback from the players is an important milestone of this process”.
Starship Troopers – Terran Command will take players to the harsh desert planet of Kwalasha where the lives of those working in the prospering mining industry have been disturbed by the Arachnids. Players will be able to lead their Mobile Infantry in, take back the planet and ensure that humanity is the dominant species on the planet and not the bugs.
The Arachnids have near limitless numbers of creatures at their disposal but the Mobile Infantry can use effective tactics and their superior firepower to win through. Deploy units in strategic positions on the high ground and use a range of weapons and equipment such as Morita Assault Rifles, MX-90 Frag’ Grenades, E-Pulse Rifles and heavily armed Marauder Mechs.
The Starship Troopers – Terran Command playable demo will be available during the Steam Next Festival starting 1st October.
