Starz has announced that it has renewed its critically acclaimed pro wrestling drama series Heels for a second season, which will begin production in 2022.
“It’s clear from the critical and fan acclaim that the stories and characters from the Duffy Wrestling League have made a connection with audiences bringing a community that is not often found to premium TV,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO at STARZ. “I’m excited for our amazing cast and executive producers to get back into the ring together for a second season.”
Heels stars Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) as Jack and Ace Spade, two brothers at war inside and outside of the ring in their family-owned Georgia independent wrestling promotion.
Featuring in the cast of the series alongside Amell and Ludwig are Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison, Roxton Garcia and Chris Bauer, while both Trey Tucker and Robby Ramos have been upped from recurring guest stars to series regulars for the second season.
Heels is created by Michael Waldron (Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), with Mike O’Malley (Survivor’s Remorse) serving as showrunner.
