SteamDolls makes a stealthy move on to Steam Early Access

February 11, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Developer The Shady Gentleman’s debut stealth/action platformer SteamDolls is now available on Steam Early Access.  If you like your characters running around a city on the verge of anarchy using stealth and brutality, then this is certainly a title you’ll want to take a look at.  A new launch trailer invites you into the world of SteamDolls below….

With SteamDolls, step into a comic book-inspired steampunk city and take the role of The Whisper, a cunning anarchist and thief who is bloodthirsty and witty.  Explore a number of unique zones, including a city overrun by an insect-like infection, a fleshy hellscape of an underbelly, a beautiful, overgrown chapel, an industrial bunker and more, and discover the secrets that are hidden within.

Hack into the city’s computer terminals and experience the memories of the past that help players follow the game’s rich narrative of why this society is collapsing.

Players can launch head-first into combat and assassinate their targets by performing devastating finishing moves, or slip between areas and using the shadows to mask their approach.  Find loot and treasure and use these back at home base, where players can use these to upgrade their skills to better match their gameplay style.

Featuring:

  • Novel-like stealth-lite that blends platforming and brutal action.
  • Gruesome finishing moves.
  • Use hacking skills to discover world memories, solve puzzles and much more.
  • Comic book-inspired 2D meets 3D aesthetics.
  • Explore a vast world and discover unique zones and disturbing creatures.
  • A talented voice cast, including David Hayter, Christopher Randolph and Jennifer Hale.
  • Upgradable skill trees that match to your preferred gameplay style.
  • Customise the Whisper’s home base and unlock lore and trophies.

SteamDolls is available now on Steam Early Access with a limited time discount.
