It’s looking all but certain that DC Comics’ various TV offerings will be kept entirely separate from Warner Bros.’ DC Cinematic Universe, but it seems that Stephen Amell is more than happy to be part of The CW’s expanding DC world, with the Arrow star stating at Fan Expo Canda (via CBR) that “we are creating a Justice League on TV for us.”
Now, before you get overly excited about a possible Justice League TV series, Amell is in fact referring to The CW’s rapid expansion of its Arrow universe, with spin-off series The Flash set to premiere next month, and numerous DC characters being added to the casts of both shows, including the likes of Firestorm (Robbie Amell) and The Atom (Brandon Routh).
“I don’t think there is a logistical reality to us participating in the feature side. That being said, I never wanted to have to feel like the show was justified, just because we participated in the movie. I don’t think my character would participate on the cinematic side. What’s that saying? Is it six seasons and a movie? Our show right now has me, Arsenal, Flash. There’s going to be Firestorm and Atom. The Justice League elements of it are very present on our shows already.”
Amell then went on to tease the possible introduction of Green Lantern, stating that: “We’ve referenced Ferris Air a lot. It would be really cool to have Green Lantern. Hopefully, that happens. I have no inside information. Unless I do.”
How do you feel about The CW’s expansion of its DC universe, and would you like to see Green Lantern introduced into the world of Arrow and The Flash?
