Fresh from his latest outing in This Is England ’90, Stephen Graham has signed on for the lead role of John Crean in the upcoming USA Network adaptation of the IDW comic book series Brooklyn Animal Control.
Written and executive produced by creator JT Petty, “Brooklyn Animal Control follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for some of the city’s most unique citizens — werewolves. It centers on John Crean, an officer of the Brooklyn Animal Control who is well-acquainted with the small community of werewolves to which he plays cop, counselor, and diplomat. When backed against a wall, he will buck tradition and risk everything to protect his miscreant son.”
In addition to Petty, Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) and David S. Goyer (Man of Steel) will serve as executive producers, while Kirk will also direct the pilot.
