Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) is set to portray the fearsome Pennywise in New Line Cinema’s two-movie adaptation of the Stephen King horror classic It.
In addition to Skarsgard, director Andy Muschietti (Mama) is also said to be close to casting The Losers’ Club, with Jaeden Lieberher (St. Vincent), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (Cops and Robbers) and Jeremy Ray Taylor (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip) said to be in talks to play the young incarnations of the group of friends at the centre of the story.
British actor Will Poulter (The Revenant) had previously been cast as Pennywise back when Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) was attached to direct.
