Having already cast Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep for his upcoming Pentagon Papers drama, Steven Spielberg has now rounded out his cast for the film, which is now officially going by the title of The Papers.
Deadline reports that Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Pat Healy, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford and Zach Woods have all signed on to appear in the movie, which began filming in New York last week.
The Papers tells the story of The Washington Post’s role in exposing the Pentagon Papers, a classified study into the United States involvement in Vietnam, and the newspaper’s legal struggle over the right to publish the report. Hanks will play Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee, with Streep as publisher Kay Graham.
The Papers is set for a limited Oscar-qualifying limited release from December 22nd, with a wide release following on January 12th.
