Deadline is reporting that Tye Sheridan (featured in many great independent films and who will also be playing Cyclops in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse) has been cast as the male lead actor for Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One.
Tye Sheridan joins a cast that so far also includes Olivia Cooke (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
t’s the year 2044, and the real world has become an ugly place. We’re out of oil. We’ve wrecked the climate. Famine, poverty, and disease are widespread. For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that the riddles are based in the culture of the late twentieth century. And then Wade stumbles onto the key to the first puzzle.
Ready Player One is still some distance away, set for release on March 30th 2018.
