Storm Reid cast as lead in Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time

September 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Having cast Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, Disney and director Ava DuVernay have now found their lead for the upcoming adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time.

13-year-old actress Storm Reid (12 Years a Slave) is set to portray the character of Meg Murray, who along with her brother and his friend, sets off on a fantastic voyage to search for Meg’s father, who has disappeared after experimenting with time travel.

Production on A Wrinkle in Time is slated to get underway in November, with DuVernay directing from a script by Frozen scribe and co-director Jennifer Lee.
