After teasing a mystery collaboration with Lucasfilm on its social media channels, it has now been announced that famed Japanese anime house Studio Ghibli has produced an original animated Star Wars short entitled Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies – and best of all, it’s hitting Disney+ this Saturday!
Studio Ghibli is the anime company behind classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. The short marks Ghibli’s first foray to the galaxy far, far away, and follows on from last year’s anime series Star Wars: Visions, which returns for a second volume of shorts in 2023.
Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies hits Disney+ on November 12th, marking the three-year anniversary of the premiere of Lucasfilm’s first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The fan-favourite show will also return in March for its third season, and you can watch the trailer here.
