Netflix has released the trailer for The Imaginary, their groundbreaking hand-drawn animation based on the beloved and award-winning novel of the same name by A.F. Harrold and illustrated by Emily Gravett.
Implementing first-of-their-kind techniques of light and shadow, The Imaginary is directed by renowned Spirited Away animator Yoshiyuki Momose, and tells the story of a young girl’s fantastical adventures with her imaginary companion, Rudger.

The Imaginary is in select theaters on June 28th, 2024, before streaming on Netflix from July 5th, 2024.
