Last month it was announced that Paddington 2 will start shooting in October ahead of a scheduled release next year, but StudioCanal is already looking beyond that, with The Tracking Board reporting that plans are already underway for a third movie.
StudioCanal have acquired Paddington and Company, giving them complete ownership of the Paddington Bear brand, and with the first movie giving the distributor their biggest ever hit with a $290 million worldwide gross, it’s hardly surprising that they will be looking to capitalise on the property.
Paddington 2 will once again be directed by Paul King, and while the cast is yet to be announced it is expected that Ben Whishaw will once again lend his voice to Paddington alongside returning stars Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins.
