David Ayer, the director of Suicide Squad, has confirmed what he actually wanted Enchantress to look like in the movie.
Director of the DC Extended Universe movie Suicide Squad, David Ayer, has made it clear that the film that reached cinemas wasn’t what he set out to make. He is even pushing for WB to let him release his own cut of the movie like they have for Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Apparently, WB changed much of the movie from Ayer’s original vision, and this includes his intended look for the villain Enchantress (Cara Delevingne. Enchantress wasn’t the most successful character in terms of visuals or character development – with Ayer saying that she was “more solidly arced out in my cut.”
We now also have an idea of what Ayer actually wanted Enchantress to look like in the movie. A fan shared a piece of concept art on Twitter for the character and Ayer responded saying: “This is where I wanted to take her look.”

It’s a pretty great visual and would have been awesome to see on screen. This alone wouldn’t make Suicide Squad a success but it sounds like little things like this and various others changes combined could turn the film into something quite different.
Perhaps we will get to experience Ayer’s cut one day but we will have wait and see. Are you excited about that prospect? Let us know in the comments or on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
