ComingSoon.net has reported more activity over at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The latest film to be picked up for distribution is Grandma, the new offering from writer-director Paul Weitz (About a Boy).
In the comedy-drama, Lily Tomlin (All of Me, 9 to 5) stars as the titular character who having gotten over a bad break-up with her girlfriend, gets an unexpected visit from her granddaughter (Julia Garner; The Perks of the Wallflower) asking her for money. But without any money to spare, the two of the spend a day trying to grab any cash they can through old friends which brings up secrets long forgotten.
Co-starring with Tomlin in the film, which has its premiere at the festival this Friday, are Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River), Judy Greer (Men, Women and Children) and Sam Elliott (Hulk).
