Ahead of tonight’s episode ‘Red Faced’ [check out a preview and clips here], CBS has announced that it has given a full series order for Supergirl. The Greg Berlanti-produced DC adaptation will get a further six episodes, bringing its first season total up to 20.
Just last week, a rumour emerged suggesting that if Supergirl was to receive a full season, it would include a crossover with The CW’s DC series The Flash in an attempt to halt the CBS series’ dwindling ratings. No confirmation on that just yet, but we’ll keep you posted if the rumour does pan out.
UPDATE: During a press conference today, Berlanti was asked whether discussions had taken place about a crossover with The Flash, replying that: “Only because we received the pick, but [there are no plans] at this point.”
