The season premiere for Supergirl has landed with soft ratings for the CW.
The CW puts a lot of stock in its DC related TV programming, with Supergirl having garnered a passionate fan base to go along with other superhero series like The Flash and Arrow.
Unfortunately, it seems like those fans weren’t quite out in force on Monday, as the season 3 premiere of Supergirl averaged a 0.5 rating in adults 18-49 and just 1.9 million in total viewers.
This equates to a drop of over 50 percent in the key demo and 40 percent in the number of total viewers from the season 2 premiere.
Supergirl aired in the 8pm timeslot and along with the series premiere for Valor (following at 9pm), the CW failed to rise from the bottom of the overnight ratings of broadcast networks, according to Nielsen data (via Variety).
Valor is a new military drama and managed to pull in a soft 0.3 in the demo and 1.2 million viewers.
