The final season of Superman & Lois has added a new “massive threat” to the Kent family. Per Entertainment Weekly, Yvonne Chapman (Avatar: The Last Airbender) has been cast as Amanda McCoy, one of Lex Luthor’s most loyal henchmen and the current head of LuthorCorp.
During Lex Luthor’s almost two decades behind bars, Amanda McCoy has been “the acting leader of LuthorCorp in Lex’s absence, and her business-savvy and cutthroat nature have brought the company to new heights. Little is known about her mysterious past, but she’s the only one in Luthor’s inner circle that he views as an equal, which makes her a massive threat to the Kents… and anyone else who stands in her way.”
McCoy debuted in DC’s relaunch of the Superman comics in the 1980s led by John Byrne. She was a scientist Luthor hired to help him uncover Superman’s secret identity, but when she rightly deduced Clark Kent was Superman, Luthor promptly fired her because he could not believe anyone with the power Superman has would debase themselves by pretending to be human. Undeterred, McCoy continued her attempts to prove Clark Kent and Superman were one and the same with tragic results.
