Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced that Richard Donner’s 1978 classic Superman: The Movie is set for a 4K Ultra HD release this November, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie and the 80th anniversary of the iconic Man of Steel.
Directed by Donner and starring Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman, Marlon Brando as Jor-El, Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor and Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, Superman was nominated for three Academy Awards and also received the Special Achievement Oscar for Visual Effects.
The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc of Superman will feature Dolby Vision HDR, and a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment, as well as the following special features:
