Takara Tomy teases new Zoids project

September 28, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Japanese company Takara Tomy has teased the return of Zoids, launching a website which features the following teaser image, along with the caption, “A new Zoids project has started! Coming Soon”. Here’s the teaser image featuring a Shield Liger and a human soldier…

The website itself no indication as to what’s being teased, be it a new line of models, a manga or anime series, or even a live-action feature, but Silicon Era is reporting that the site contains the keyword “Field of Rebellion” and that Takara Tomy filed a trademark back in August for a video game entitled Zoids: Field of Rebellion.

The Zoids media franchise launched as a series of models in 1983, and went on to inspire a host of manga, anime and video games, along with a UK comic strip from Marvel UK which featured early work from Grant Morrison.
