Talks underway for a sixth season of Lucifer at Netflix

February 14, 2020 by Gary Collinson

It seems that Lucifer’s upcoming fifth season after all, as Deadline is reporting that Netflix is in talks with Warner Bros. Television about renewing the DC/Vertigo comic book adaptation for another run of episodes.

Netflix originally saved Lucifer from cancellation back in the summer of 2018 after three seasons on FOX, with the streaming service ordering a fourth season and then renewing it last year for a (believed to be) final fifth, which was subsequently extended from 10 to 16 episodes.

According to Deadline’s sources, producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are keen on a sixth season, but would need to make new deals with WB and Netflix, as would star Tom Ellis and his cast mates who have already been fielding offers for other shows believing that Lucifer’s time was over.

Since its premiere in 2016, Lucifer has developed a loyal following, and the show has proven to be one of Netflix’s strongest-performing TV shows.
