Taylor Sheridan to script Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse

January 12, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having found a director last month in Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Paramount Pictures has now enlisted acclaimed Sicario and Hell or High Water screenwriter Taylor Sheridan to pen the script for its Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse.

Based on the 1993 book of the same name, Without Remorse will serve as the origin story for the character of John Clark, played by Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan, and is intended to serve as the start of a new franchise based around the former Navy SEAL-turned CIA officer, with a Rainbow Six movie following.

Jordan will become the third actor to take on the role of Clark after Willem Dafoe (Clear and Present Danger) and Liev Schreiber (The Sum of All Fears). Paramount is hoping to begin production on the film later this year, with Jordan, Akiva Goldsman, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec serving as producers.
