The Fall Guy movie is taking shaping and starting to showcase how it will differ from the 1980s television series.
We’ve learned from The Hollywood Reporter that Hannah Waddingham is joining the cast. Waddingham is one of the breakout stars of Ted Lasso and was also recently seen in Hocus Pocus 2.
With its all-star cast that includes Waddingham, Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke, we will see an adaptation that takes new risks with the material.
Per THR, this new version of “The Fall Guy doesn’t focus on a stuntman with a side hustle as a bounty hunter. Instead, the script by Drew Pearce focuses on a battered and past-his-prime stuntman (Gosling) who finds himself back on a movie with the star (Taylor-Johnson) for whom he doubled long ago and who replaced him. The wrinkle, however, is that the star has gone missing.”
Waddingham is set to star as the movie producer, now in trouble. She’s joined by Duke, who plays the stuntman’s best friend, Hsu as the movie star’s assistant, and Blunt as a prosthetic makeup artist who has with a romantic past with the stuntman.
David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train) is directing The Fall Guy, which is now shooting in Australia.
