Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson will return to Gotham this fall as it is being reported that The Batman Part II, the sequel to the Oscar-nominated superhero film, will start production in November, ahead of its 2025 release.
Initially reported by internet movie scooper Grace Randolph, we got a new report from the latest issue of Production Weekly that states The Batman sequel will begin filming this November.
The Batman Part II will begin filming at Warner Bros. Levensden Studios this fall, where they filmed the first film. During the production of 2022’s The Batman, they also shot on-location in Liverpool, England, and Glasgow, Scotland. While there are no confirmation on-location shoots, they will likely keep the same aesthetic built for the original.
Ahead of this film, we will see production begin on The Penguin series, heading to HBO Max and featuring the return of Colin Farrell to the role. The series will pick up approximately one week after the first film’s end, giving fans a glimpse of the state of Gotham before we get The Batman sequel.
2022’s The Batman received nominations for Best Sound, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Visual Effects at the 95th Academy Awards. The film was also a commercial success and grossed over $770 million against a $185–200 million budget,
The Batman Part II will hit theaters on October 3rd, 2025.
