Mattson Tomlin, the co-writer of The Batman, says the delays to the film’s production schedule due to the pandemic haven’t caused any changes to the movie.
As with virtually every other movie currently in production, The Batman was forced to halt production when filming had already begun due to the pandemic.
While things are starting back up around the world, have these delays forced the filmmakers of The Batman into making any changes to the film? Apparently not, according to co-writer Mattson Tomlin.
Speaking to ComicBook.com Tomlin said: “No. I mean, the movie is the movie, and I think that right now the plan is to just execute that vision. They were quite a ways into shooting as it was. And so it really is just how do you finish safely? How do you make sure that everybody can show up for work and then go home and all be okay?”
Tomlin also spoke about the moment when it was announced that he, as a relatively unknown writer, would be working on The Batman:
“When the Batman news came out back in October, I didn’t know that that news was going to come out. And so the Internet, I had 1000s of people on Twitter basically shrieking, ‘Who are you?’ It was a wild weekend.
“It has forever changed my relationship to the Internet, I’ll tell you that much.”
