New Line is returning to The Conjuring Universe and bringing back some familiar faces.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will pen The Conjuring 4, after writing The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
Longtime producers James Wan and Peter Safran will return as well, as the pair are currently shooting the eighth entry in the franchise, The Nun 2, in France.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to reprise their roles, but THR reports no deals are currently in place. Wilson and Farmiga have starred in every mainline Conjuring installment and appeared in a few of the Conjuring Universe spinoffs.
Johnson-McGoldrick is very familiar with the world of Warner Bros., penning the script for the 2009 horror flick Orphan. Since then, he’s worked on Red Riding Hood, Wrath of the Titans, Aquaman, and its upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
