THR is reporting that Pacific Rim: Uprising and Bad Times at the El Royale actress Cailee Spaeny is in talks to join the cast of Sony Pictures and Blumhouse Productions’ remake of The Craft.
The “contemporary take” on the cult 1996 film is being written and directed by actress turned filmmaker Zoe Lister-Jones (Band Aid).
The Craft will follow high school outcast Hannah, “who falls into a friendship with three other young women and begins experimenting with witchcraft. They unleash a power that at first seems to solve problems in their lives but slowly consumes them with unforeseen costs.”
The original film saw Andrew Fleming directing Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True, and grossed $55 million worldwide upon its release and went on to develop a cult following.
