Surprising absolutely no one, The CW has cancelled its most recent DC Comics series Gotham Knights, with the network opting against picking up the Batman spinoff series for a second season.
Created by Batwoman’s Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams, although separate from the wider Arrowverse, Gotham Knights is set in the aftermath of the death of Batman, as Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) and a trio of children of the Dark Knight’s enemies – Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan) and siblings Harper Row (Fallon Smythe) and Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara) – find themselves framed for the Caped Crusader’s murder.
Deadline reports that while The CW found Gotham Knights had enjoyed “respectable” ratings, a changing business model meant only a handful of shows deemed “highly rated” by the network made the cut for renewals, including fellow DC show Superman & Lois, which will return for a fourth season and is now last DC series standing on The CW.
