Last summer it was announced that Imagine Entertainment was looking to bring Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon to the small screen for a prequel to The Da Vinci Code, and now comes word that NBC has officially given the green light to a pilot for Langdon.
Serving as a prequel to the Imagine-produced movies, Langdon will follow “the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy.”
The pilot has been scripted by Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie (The Crossing), who replaced original writer and executive producer Daniel Cerone (Constantine) and will be based upon Brown’s novel The Lost Symbol.
Imagine had previously developed The Lost Symbol as a follow-up to Angels & Demons before opting to go with Inferno for the third film in the Tom Hanks-led series.
