Back in April it was announced that Sony had given the green light to a sequel to last year’s big screen reboot of The Equalizer, and now the studio has revealed that the follow-up will hit cinemas on September 29th, 2017.
As yet, there’s no word on a director for The Equalizer 2, although Denzel Washington is confirmed as returning to the role of McCall.
Washington is currently reteaming with The Equalizer director Antoine Fuqua for a remake of The Magnificent Seven, which also stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Ethan Hawke (Boyhood), Wagner Moura (Elite Squad), Haley Bennett (The Equalizer), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Luke Grimes (Fifty Shades of Grey), Matt Bomer (Magic Mike XXL), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil) and Peter Sarsgaard (Garden State).
