Ezra Miller’s version of Barry Allen has found his mother, and he didn’t even have to time travel for it. Today, The Hollywood Reporter has broken that story that Spanish actress Maribel Verdu will play Nora Allen’s role in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash.
Verdu joins Kiersey Clemons, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck for this upcoming Andy Muschietti-helmed film. However, while Miller’s Barry has found a mother, he’s also lost a father as Billy Crudup will not be returning as Barry’s dad Henry Allen due to scheduling issues.
Crudup is featured in Zack Snyder’s Justice League as Henry, the man locked up for committing a murder he never did. The industry trade notes that Crudup’s planned schedule for Apple TV+’s The Morning Show has kept him from returning for The Flash.
The Flash is currently in pre-production, with the DC Extended Universe film scheduled to begin shooting during the spring-summer seasons in England. Little is known about this project, though it’s reported that we’ll see Barry trying to save his mother from being murdered by speeding to alternate dimensions and employing time travel.
