With this TV season’s finales upon us comes the usual renewals and cancellations, and there has seen some big casualities of the 2014/2015 season over in the States.
Perhaps biggest of all is the news that Kevin Bacon-starrer The Following has found itself on the chopping board due to the decline of viewership, and the current third season will be its last. Katherine Heigl was also served the bad news that her “comeback” show, State of Affairs, has been canned after just one season, as has the short lived comedy One Big Happy, starring Elisha Cuthbert and Kelly Brook, which has ended after just six episodes.
The three join the already announced cancellations of Revenge and DC Comics adaptation Constantine, although both those shows could be ripe for resuscitation in the coming months on other networks or TV outlets.
In more positive news, comic book adventures The Flash, Gotham, Marvel’s Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have joined Netflix’s Daredevil in getting new seasons, as have James Spader’s The Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow and Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
