For over 25 years the Foo Fighters have dominated rock and roll, but now they face an entirely new challenge in the horror comedy Studio 666. Based on a story by lead singer and guitarist Dave Grohl, the film sees the band rent a mansion to record their next album only to realize it is haunted as Grohl becomes possessed. Watch the trailer below…
Studio 666 stars Foo Fighters members Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee. Starring alongside them are Whitney Cummings (How It Ends), Leslie Grossman (American Horror Story), Will Forte (MacGruber), Jenna Ortega (The Babysitter: Killer Queen) and Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs).
Grohl came up with the story while the script was written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes with BJ McDonnell (Hatchet III) having directed. Open Road Films will release it in theatres February 25, 2022.
Studio 666 follows what happens to the stadium rockers as they rent an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history, to record their 10th album. The trouble is, frontman Grohl is creatively blocked, and when evil forces in the house sink into his consciousness, the creative juices begin flowing but so does the blood. Can Foo Fighters’ complete the album, with the band still alive to tour?
