Deadline is reporting that ABC and Sony Pictures TV are developing a spinoff to the hit sitcom The Goldbergs.
The potential series would take place in the 1990s and follow Bryan Callen’s recurring character Mr. Mellor and another high school teacher, who become unlikely father figures to the school secretary’s three misfit kids.
The spinoff is being developed by The Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg and executive producer Marc Firek, who is also scripting the pilot.
The fourth season of The Goldbergs is currently airing on ABC.
