Coming hot on the heels a major leak containing plot points, cutscenes and a multitude of spoilers, it has been announced by Sony that The Last Of Us Part II is heading to PlayStation 4 on this June.
Earlier this month, the long-awaited sequel was pulled from its latest release date of May 29th and delayed indefinitely due to the global health crisis. However, a post on the PlayStation blog has announced that as a result of an ease in the global distribution environment the game will now hit on June 29th (followed by Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima on July 17th).
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog also responded to the leak by issuing a statement urging fans to avoid spoilers:
“We know the last few days have been incredibly difficult for you,” reads the statement. “We feel the same. It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development. Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others. The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon. No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it.”
Heartbroken for the team. Heartbroken for our fans. We’re still incredibly excited to get the game into your hands. ❤️ https://t.co/QWKLU6I6Q3

In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie is now 19 and has found a semblance of peace and normality living in Jackson. She’s had a chance to be a teenager and forge lasting relationships. When that peace is disrupted by a violent act, Ellie is thrust into a brutal journey of retribution, fueled by a need to bring those that have wronged her to justice, pushing her to her very limits. From the way Ellie plays to the way she navigates through this hostile world, you’re going to feel her physical, emotional, and mental state expressed through every facet of gameplay.
