Get ready to quack again as Disney+ has announced a March 26th premiere date for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, the sequel series to The Mighty Ducks franchise with Emilio Estevez returning as Coach Gordon Bombay alongside Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and Brady Noon (Good Boys). Check out the first teaser trailer below…
A sequel to the 1992 hit film The Mighty Ducks, the new series stars Graham and Noon as a mother and son who start their own team after Noon’s Evan Morrow was kicked off the Mighty Ducks, which has since become an ultra-competitive sports team. With help from former coach Gordon Bombay, Evan and his mother Alex gather a new group of misfits to play hockey and reignite the love of the game.
The series will also feature Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts.
In the 10-episode season set in present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will premiere on March 26th.
