Disney+ has announced a second season renewal for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. Watch the announcement teaser below…
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is a sequel series to the 1990s The Mighty Ducks trilogy. Starring Lauren Graham and Evan Morrow as a mother and son, they set out to form their own hockey team of misfit kids who just want to play for the love of the game rather than the super competitive and ruthless team the Ducks have become. To that end, they meet Gordon Bombay, with Emilio Estevez reprising his iconic role, to train the new team. Graham, Noon and Estevez will return in the second season.
Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa will return as showrunners. Steven Brill, the original trilogy’s creator and writer, will executive produce alongside Goldsmith, Yuspa and George Heller and Brad Petrigala for Brillstein Entertainmenr Partners. Lauren Graham will be made a co-executive producer for season two while executive producers James Griffiths and Michael Spiller, the former of whom directed several episodes in the first season, will not be returning.

In the 10-episode season set in present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will begin production on season two in early 2022.
