With HBO’s The Righteous Gemstone set to premiere its fourth season in March, series star and creator Danny McBride has revealed it will be its final season.
The Righteous Gemstones tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Despite constant bickering, Gemstone family ties run deep, and this season the family’s codependence is tested as they attempt to move forward without letting go of their storied past.
McBride announced the news in an interview with GQ, telling the magazine the fourth season “was a story that was bringing all these themes and these ideas and these characters to a conclusion, to something that felt like completion.”
While we know season four will premiere in March, a specific premiere date has not yet been announced. McBride created, writes and directs The Righteous Gemstones. He also executive produces alongside Jody Hill, David Gordon Green, John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley, Brandon James and Jonathan Watson.
The Righteous Gemstones stars McBride as Jesse Gemstone, Adam Devine as Kelvin Gemstone, John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Tim Baltz as BJ, Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Greg Alan Williams as Martin Imari, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Walton Goggins as Baby Billy Freeman, Jennifer Nettles as Aimee-Leigh Gemstone, James DuMont as Chad, Jody Hill as Levi, Troy Anthony Hogan as Matthew, Valyn Hall as Tiffany Freeman, Kelton DuMont as Pontious Gemstone and Gavin Munn as Abraham Gemstone.
The Righteous Gemstones will premiere in March.
